Mothers mourn silently
In fear and in shame
On the eve of
The Thamil New Year 2006
For the fate of theirWorking daughters
In the NGOs and INGOs
Not because ofThe atrocities
Of the aggressors
But because of their
Very own andInvisible sons
Innocents victimized
In order to domesticate
And the perpetrators
Silently harboured
The new version
Of an age old custom
Manipulated invisibly
But celebrated harshly
